**Baby rat development**
This little baby is 2 days old. You can see the milk in the belly, their skin is transparent, at this age you can see what color the eyes will be, if they will be pink or black. The toes are all joined together and the ears are attached to the head. You can tell this baby is going to be a dumbo, because of where the ears are placed on the head they are more down below the eye and point down, where top ears would be a little more above the eye and point upwards. I'll try to get pictures and compare the two in the future.
Some people can't tell the difference but some can like myself. |

Day 3 >
This baby is a little bit bigger now and not much has changed. You can see that he will have dark eyes and that he is also dumbo. |

< Day 4
The babies are now starting to show markings, their front toes are starting to show individual toes instead of all conected, the back toes are still together. The ears are starting to come away from the head, they are no longer attached. You can see the dark patterns on them showing. |
Day 5 >
Peach fuzz can be seen on the bodies the toes are still seperating, you can see the markings better, on this picture you can tell that one of them is a blazed veriegated the other will be a possum faced with a mark over the right eye. |

< Day 6
Markings are even better to see and are coming in more, you can see more dots on the veriegated, the front feet are getting little nails. The back feet are still trying to seperate more. Milk can still be seen in their bellies. |
Day 7 >
They are getting more peach fuzz on their bodies, the toes on the back feet are now seperated and starting the nails. Everyones ears are away from the head, they are no longer stuck to the side of the head. They are all dumbo in this litter, you can really see how the ears point down on the blazed veriegated. |

2 boys on the left hand side the rest are girls. I may be keeping the boy on the end. Today the back toenails are formed, the hair is getting thicker, the milk can still be seen in their bellies. They are getting bigger each day. |
Day 9 >>
This is the little boy that I'm keeping, you can now see more spots on his back, the hair is coming in more, they are really moving around now and are very squirmy. This little boy may be a possum faced dalmatian. |

You can really see that the fur came in over night, it is alot thicker. I can even see more spotting on them that I couldn't see before. My boy on the far left side is going to be a possum faced dalmation, his color is silvered black. What a nice bunch of babies they turned out to be. |
Day 11 >>
You can see little teeth in their mouth now, they must have grown in over night. Milk can still be seen in their little bellies. |

Their bellies are not transparent, they have thicker shin on them now, so the milk can no longer be seen, they are starting hair on the bellies as well. They are all completely formed except for the eyes are not open yet. |
Day 13 >>
They are starting to explore and taste, now that they have their little teeth. There is more hair growing on their bellies now. They are all over the place now. |

Their coat is nice and thick now and they have fur on their bellies that is also getting thicker. |
Day 15 >>
The eyes are now open and they are completely formed in every way. This is a picture of the 2 possum faced girls you can see that the one on the left has more white on her face the color don't run down to her eyes like the other girl. Their coloring is silvered black then the white body, although one has some spotting coming in on her back. |
