Dumbo rats!

A dumbo rat is simply a normal domestic rat, Rattus norvegicus (same species as almost all pet rats), with a mutation that enlarges and widens the ears and places them lower on the head.(appearing to grow from the back of the cheeks rather than from the top corners of the head as in a standard rat...
They suffer no disadvantage due to their unusual ear set and size and slightly broader, flatter heads. Somewhere along the line most of these rats appear to have been heavily selected for a docile temperament. I find them very easy to handle they do love to play and act like little goofs runing around and playing with your hand trying to make you laugh, but they also love to cuddle and be patted. They are just so friendly, but I also handle them from birth till they leave.

The hairless rat

A rat, similar to a sphinx cat. They have no hair and if they do, its such a very small amount. They are very warm to the touch almost as if to have a fever. They are so ugly their cute. I believe that they were designed in a lab. They require special care, a cage that has nothing sharp sticking out that could scratch their skin. They also need a higher protein in their diet and also eat/drink more then the haired varieties.
I own the standard eared at this time, and plan to breed for dumbo hairless.

Velveteen rats.
They have a very soft coat that is soft to the touch, and is not as curly as a rex rat.

I also breed the rex ; Rex have a curly coat which is a little rough to the touch it is not soft like a velveteen. They look like someone got hold of them with a crimpler and gave them a hair-doo.

I do have the standard coat which most people have seen before.

Most of my rats come in many markings as the dalmatian, possum faced, veriegated, blazed, berkshire, irish, hooded, etc... the list goes on.
